As well as hair cutting as the main attraction, we also raised awareness through spray painting, food and coffee to raise funds and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation as Team Fallon 💙🧡
Every day, 53 Aussies are diagnosed with blood cancer, and 16 will lose their life. With no screening programs available and no means of prevention through lifestyle changes, blood cancer is Australia’s hidden cancer crisis.
This year the Leukaemia FounÂdaÂtion’s World’s Greatest Shave celebrated 25 years – making it one of Australia’s longest runÂning and most iconic fundraising events! Over the last quarter-century, more than 2 million Aussies have taken part – with an estimated 39,000 kiloÂgrams of hair removed!
In total, Hobie raised an amazing $4800, which is enough to fund 3 months of laboratory costs for a research project to discover better treatment for blood cancer.
